Increased Flooding Is Just One Cost of Over-Development
If it seems that Spring floods are increasing more common in recent years it's because they are! And it is the result of over-development.
Whenever we put up a building or pave a parking lot, we cover up ground through which water can longer seep down to the aquifer. Buildings and parking lots keep rain water on the surface. It runs off to the lowest point, where it collects.
Those collection points are the same areas that now flood year after year. As the Piscataway Democrats continue to build, the incidents of flooded roads, flooded homes and flooded businesses will simply increase!
