What is a poll worker?
Poll workers are the people who handle the voter registration books and help operate the voting machines at each election district. This is a very important civic function.

Who pays the poll workers?
Middlesex County pays each trained poll worker $200 for the day. A trained poll worker is someone who attends a free 1 hour class that teaches the ins and outs of being a poll worker. You must take this class once every two years to receive full compensation. The county makes several of these classes available prior to each primary and general election.
